M, the Emotion Recognition AI that Understands Your Desperate Urgency
Have you ever been in a situation where you had an urgent need to use the restroom, but none was available? The person in the picture was in this situation after drinking too much water. She could not hold any longer and really wanted to shout at the person who had been occupying the restroom for more than 10 minutes. She felt helpless meanwhile because this was the only restroom within the area.
Can Emotional AI identify her urgent feeling and discontent?
M demonstrates a more comprehensive and reliable analysis than Microsoft in analyzing the emotion the person had in such an urgent situation. M was able to extract the Disgust as the primary, Anger as the secondary, and sad as the tertiary emotion, and other hidden feelings emanated from her facial emotions.
In contrast, Microsoft incorrectly simplified the person’s complex emotions as Neutral. If the emotional recognition AI were applied to analyzing customer emotions, it is crucial for an AI to be able to understand the customer’s true feelings correctly.
